Mini 14: Methods I Used To Complete My Dissertation

Sandy Hodge

Description

Course work has been completed and now you are ready to write your dissertation!!! It is so exciting!! And it is overwhelming at the same time! You’ve been working on it to fulfill course requirements, but what is the next step? How do you keep going? How do you organize? Where is the best place to invest your time? What do you do when your Chair is reading your material? How do you keep the momentum going (or restart it after life has derailed you)? How do you get to the end? Or maybe you are just starting your journey and would like some tips on how to best organize yourself NOW to make the most of your time for the next few years. Everything is so confusing right now. What do you do to streamline the process? What really needs to be done? I completed my dissertation in April 2017 and am excited to share some ideas I used during the entire process that may help you. Much of what I did was start with a good foundation. Some things saved me hours of time later down the road; others turned out to be a waste of time. How do you determine which is which? My goal is to have you walk away with ideas and tips that you can use to cross the finish line and submit that dissertation so you can graduate. Whether you walk away with a trunk load of information or just a tip or two, it will be time well spent as you will be investing time in your success!
